Reviewing all 43 of the technical assessment platforms in the industry

Technical skills screening software helps companies evaluate whether candidates can actually do the work required for a role. Here's an overview of the 43 companies actively operating in the space.

CEO & Founder

Technical skills screening software helps companies evaluate whether candidates can actually do the work required for a role. The category started largely with coding tests, but has expanded considerably. Products now range from traditional assessment libraries and live coding environments to job simulations, AI interviews, resume screening, and fully automated hiring workflows.

That makes comparing them surprisingly difficult. Two products listed in the same category can solve very different problems, target different stages of the hiring process, and cost an order of magnitude apart.

Criteria for inclusion

We started with companies listed in G2’s Technical Skills Screening category, but appearing on G2 wasn’t enough. To keep the comparison current, we only included products that still have an active offering and have received at least one G2 review dated in 2026.

We also excluded products that have been discontinued or acquired and no longer operate as independent offerings. The goal isn’t to create the longest possible list. It’s to compare products that companies are actively evaluating and customers are actively using today.

How we compared each product

Most comparison pages make assessment platforms look more similar than they actually are. Feature lists become a collection of checkmarks, while pricing is reduced to “contact sales.”

We structured each profile around the questions a buyer would actually need answered. How much does it cost to assess 300 candidates? Is SSO included or hidden behind an enterprise contract? What does ATS integration cost? Can you run take-home tests or live interviews? Does the product support AI phone screening, webcam proctoring, or a real VS Code environment with agentic coding?

We also include notable strengths and limitations from customer feedback. This makes it easier to distinguish between a feature that technically exists and a product that is actually good at delivering it.

Which platforms stand out?

For most established, the strongest three are Mercer | Mettl, HackerRank, and TestGorilla when considering customer footprint, G2 review volume, and company size together. Mercer | Mettl says it works with 6,000+ corporate customers and 700+ educational institutions, has more than 500 G2 reviews across its products, and has roughly 500 employees. HackerRank is used by 2,600+ companies and has more than 1,000 G2 reviews. TestGorilla is used by thousands of organizations, has nearly 1,450 G2 reviews, and has grown to a few hundred employees despite launching much more recently in 2020.

For feature completeness, the strongest three are Coderbyte, Glider AI, and WeCP. Coderbyte is the only product we reviewed that checks every capability we tracked: resume grading, AI phone screening, take-home tests, live interviews, personality tests, VS Code with agentic coding, webcam proctoring, SOC 2 compliance, SSO, and ATS integrations. Glider AI and WeCP cover nearly the entire evaluation funnel but lack the same agentic development environment.

For 50 candidates per year, the absolute lowest-cost options are ASTRNT, Equip, and Evalart. ASTRNT's free allowance covers as many as 60 candidates annually, a simple Equip workflow can cost roughly $50, and Evalart is around $190 for 50 candidates. If you need something substantially more feature-complete, the lowest-cost options from that group are Coderbyte at $1,799/year, followed by WeCP at an estimated $2,000–$6,000/year and Glider AI at roughly $5,000–$15,000/year. The difference is that these products can cover considerably more of the hiring process rather than just administering an assessment.

At 300 candidates per year, Equip, TestTrick, and SkillRobo have the lowest published or estimable costs at roughly $300, $420, and $490 per year, respectively. They're compelling if basic assessments are the primary requirement. For buyers who need a more complete evaluation stack, Coderbyte is again the lowest-cost option at $1,799/year with unlimited candidates, followed by WeCP at roughly $2,000–$6,000/year and Glider AI at roughly $5,000–$15,000/year based on their custom pricing.

For unique or innovative features, Coderbyte, Karat, and Sapia.ai stand out for very different reasons. Coderbyte combines the full evaluation funnel with a VS Code environment where candidates can work with agentic AI. Karat effectively lets companies outsource technical interviewing to professional interviewers rather than just buying assessment software. Sapia.ai goes in the opposite direction of traditional testing, using conversational AI to evaluate behavioral and job-fit signals at high volume.

There isn't one obvious winner across every dimension. The category now spans inexpensive testing utilities, full evaluation suites, AI interviewers, realistic developer environments, and managed interviewing services. The right comparison therefore depends as much on what you need to evaluate as how many candidates you need to evaluate.

—

VidCruiter

Website: vidcruiter.com
Company size: 101+
G2 reviews: 101–400
Notable clients: Bridgestone, Pepsi, Unum, US Foods, RaceTrac

Trial: No public self-serve trial. VidCruiter directs prospective customers to request a demo and uses a sales-led evaluation process.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Custom pricing. There is not enough public candidate-volume pricing to produce a defensible 300-invite estimate; VidCruiter says enterprise pricing varies by volume and modules.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; not publicly disclosed.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Custom pricing; not publicly disclosed.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: No

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: Yes

  • Personality tests: No

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: Yes

  • SOC 2 compliance: Yes

Notable features: VidCruiter is much more interview-centric than the coding platforms. It combines pre-recorded and live interviews with structured rubrics, scheduling, skills testing, reference checks, AI-assisted scoring, fraud detection, and dedicated video proctoring. It also has unusually strong enterprise compliance and 24/7 candidate support.

Notable limitations: Customers say the administrator experience can feel manual and unintuitive when changing questions or workflows. The product is also aimed primarily at mid-market and enterprise buyers, with custom pricing and a heavier implementation process than self-serve assessment tools.

—

eSkill

Website: eskill.com
Company size: 101+
G2 reviews: 101–400
Notable clients: Costco, Deloitte, Garmin, GE Vernova, World Health Organization

Trial: No fixed self-serve trial. eSkill offers a test during a live demo and can arrange pilot programs before an annual commitment; the duration and usage limits of pilots are not publicly standardized.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $3,600/year using the publicly listed small-business rate of $1,200 per 100 assessments. eSkill recommends buyers expecting more than 200 annual assessments move to a higher-volume subscription, so an actual quote may differ.

Minimum cost for SSO: Not publicly disclosed.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Not publicly disclosed. Higher subscription tiers support systems integration, but the minimum current subscription price is not published.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: No

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: No

  • Personality tests: Yes

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: Yes

Trial: Free trial available; duration and usage limits are not publicly stated. SkillPanel’s terms say the company can define or modify the trial period and may require billing information.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Not directly comparable. Current public pricing starts at $1 per employee/month, because SkillPanel has repositioned around workforce skills intelligence rather than pricing primarily by candidate invites. Candidate-assessment volume pricing is not broken out publicly.

Minimum cost for SSO: Not publicly disclosed.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Not publicly disclosed.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: No

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: Yes

  • Personality tests: No

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: No

  • SOC 2 compliance: No

  • SSO: Yes

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: SkillPanel is increasingly an adjacent competitor rather than a pure technical-screening product. Its standout capability is a dynamic skills map that combines employee, manager, and expert validation to identify skill levels and gaps across an organization, while retaining technical testing and live code-pairing capabilities.

Notable limitations: Customers say exports and reporting could provide more detail, while some workflows and integrations still need refinement. Its current workforce-focused pricing also makes it unusually difficult to compare directly with candidate-based technical assessment platforms.

—

Minimum cost for SSO: More than $5,748/year; exact price not disclosed. SSO, SCIM, JIT, and audit logs require the custom Pro plan.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: $5,748/year. Basic ATS integrations are included with Grow; enterprise integrations require Pro.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: No

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: Yes

  • Personality tests: Yes

  • VS Code with agentic coding: Yes

Notable features: CodeSignal has evolved from a coding-assessment product into a broader AI-native skills platform. It combines technical and nontechnical assessments, live interviews, AI interviewers, advanced coding environments, behavioral assessments, AI proctoring, and ID verification. Its credits are interchangeable between assessments and interviews rather than being locked to one evaluation format.

Notable limitations: Customers say question difficulty can vary substantially and some challenges become repetitive. Because CodeSignal is widely used, candidates can also sometimes find discussions or solutions to assessment problems online. G2 currently has more than 1,400 reviews, including reviews from 2026.

—

Andela

Website: andela.com
Company size: 101+
G2 reviews: 101–400
Notable clients: GitHub, Mastercard, ViacomCBS, Mindshare

Trial: No public self-serve trial. Andela is primarily a managed talent platform, so employers engage with its sales/talent team rather than opening a conventional assessment trial.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Not directly comparable. Andela does not sell candidate assessment invites as a standalone self-serve product with public per-candidate pricing.

Minimum cost for SSO: Not publicly disclosed.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Not publicly disclosed.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: Yes

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: Yes

  • Personality tests: No

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: No

  • SOC 2 compliance: Yes

  • SSO: Yes

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: Andela is the outlier in this category because assessment is only one component of a much larger talent marketplace. Its Talent Cloud sources, qualifies, matches, hires, manages, and pays technical talent. Its newer technical assessment uses practical work simulations such as debugging, code review, system design, and feature development rather than abstract coding puzzles.

Notable limitations: Customers say matching with suitable projects or talent can take longer than expected, and the platform is difficult to compare with standalone assessment products because assessment is bundled into a broader talent service.

Trial: Free trial available. Criteria asks prospective customers to request the trial rather than publishing a fixed self-serve duration or candidate allowance.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $1,500–$5,000/year. Pricing is quote-based and depends on hiring volume and the assessment products included.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; exact price not disclosed.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Custom pricing; exact price not disclosed.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: No

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: Yes

  • Personality tests: Yes

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: No

  • SOC 2 compliance: Yes

  • SSO: Yes

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: Criteria is built more around psychometric science than technical interviewing. It combines cognitive aptitude, personality, emotional intelligence, risk, skills, and structured interviewing tools. This makes it particularly relevant when technical ability is only one dimension of what an employer wants to measure.

Notable limitations: Customers say standardized questionnaires do not always map cleanly to specialized roles, reporting can be difficult to use, and some users want more customization. G2 has multiple verified 2026 reviews making similar points about the usefulness of standardized testing and integrations.

—

Company size: 11–100
G2 reviews: 11–100
Notable clients: monday.com, Wix, EY, Fiverr, Deloitte

Trial: 14 days. No credit card is required. Canditech says the trial is intended to let an employer run a real position through the platform.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $2,400–$7,200/year. Canditech prices by annual candidate volume. Public pricing at 100 candidates starts at $150/month for Team and $200/month for Pro; the exact 300-candidate price changes with volume.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; exact price not disclosed.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Approximately $2,400+/year, with final cost depending on candidate volume. ATS integration begins with Pro.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: Yes

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: No

  • Personality tests: Yes

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: Yes

  • SOC 2 compliance: Yes

  • SSO: Yes

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: Canditech focuses heavily on realistic job simulations and customizable assessments. Employers can combine technical questions, video, spreadsheets, files, open-ended responses, personality measures, and AI-generated content. Its approach to AI is also relatively pragmatic: employers can allow ChatGPT or Google Search and review what candidates did rather than simply blocking those tools.

Notable limitations: Customers say the technical library and automated coding evaluation are less mature than dedicated developer-assessment platforms. One 2026 reviewer specifically wanted more prebuilt technical questions and deeper automated scoring, while another noted the absence of a live coding interview environment.

—

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $300–$900/year, depending on the workflow. One skills test costs $1 per candidate, a one-way AI interview costs another $1, and conversational AI interviews cost $2–$3. Resume screening itself is free.

Minimum cost for SSO: Not publicly disclosed.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: $0 for Equip's built-in ATS; approximately $90/month for API access. Premium includes API access for external workflows.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: Yes

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: No

  • Personality tests: Yes

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: Yes

  • SOC 2 compliance: No

  • SSO: No

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: Equip is unusually inexpensive and transparent. Resume parsing, AI resume ranking, job posts, and its ATS are free; employers then pay per candidate for assessments and AI interviews. It supports coding, aptitude, communication, psychometric, SQL, Excel, CSS, typing, custom assessments, and AI proctoring.

Notable limitations: Customers say advanced functionality and customization can feel limited, and some report occasional performance or loading issues. The simplicity that makes Equip inexpensive also means it lacks some enterprise functionality found in much more expensive platforms.

It is particularly strong when an organization needs both hiring assessments and large-scale testing or certification infrastructure.

Notable limitations: Customers say pricing can be high for smaller teams, advanced functionality has a learning curve, custom reports could be more flexible, and performance can occasionally suffer under load. Those criticisms appear directly in a 2026 G2 review.

Website: adaface.com
Company size: 11–100

  • Live interviews: No

  • Personality tests: Yes

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

Its library spans programming, AI, data science, cloud, aptitude, psychometric, finance, language, and other business skills, with more than 500 ready-made assessments currently included in its credit model.

Notable limitations: Customers say custom assessments can take longer to configure, and some questions need clearer explanations or additional context. A 2026 reviewer liked the practical, lower-stress format but still identified areas where the assessment experience could be improved.

DevSkiller

Website: devskiller.com
Company size: 11–100

Trial: Free trial available. DevSkiller has historically offered a short product trial, but its current public materials do not consistently expose a fixed duration and candidate limit.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $3,000–$8,000/year. Current assessment pricing is quote-based and varies by candidate volume and functionality.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; exact price not disclosed.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Custom pricing; exact price not disclosed.

Capabilities:

The platform supports coding projects, automated scoring, technical screening, live technical interviewing, and skills management.

Notable limitations: Customers have historically cited pricing, administration, and the effort required to customize more sophisticated assessments. The product has also expanded significantly into skills management, making its positioning less focused on technical candidate screening than it once was.

—

Vervoe

Website: vervoe.com
Company size: 11–100
G2 reviews: 11–100
Notable clients: Lumen Technologies, OneMain Financial, Kroll, Subaru, Australia Post

Trial: Free trial available. Vervoe allows one assessment during the trial and lets you view results from up to 50 responding candidates. You can send more invitations, but responses beyond the first 50 remain locked until upgrading. The current public materials don't clearly state the trial duration.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $3,000–$8,000/year. Vervoe has moved to custom enterprise pricing, so there is no longer a public candidate-volume price from which to calculate exactly 300 assessments.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; likely within the same $3,000–$8,000+ annual range. SSO is part of Vervoe's enterprise offering.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Custom pricing; likely $3,000–$8,000+/year. Vervoe supports enterprise integration pathways and API-based workflows, but does not publish a minimum price.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: No

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: No

  • Personality tests: Yes

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: No

  • SOC 2 compliance: Yes

  • SSO: Yes

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: Vervoe is heavily focused on immersive, role-specific work samples rather than generic multiple-choice testing. Its AI grading learns how employers evaluate responses and automatically ranks candidates, while supporting coding, presentations, spreadsheets, video, and other task-based question types.

Notable limitations: Customers say the AI scoring has improved but can still be more accurate, some job templates are missing, and occasional candidate-side technical problems occur. Some teams also want faster support and more customization. A current G2 review was updated in February 2026.

—

Website: hirevue.com
Company size: 101+
G2 reviews: 101–400

Minimum cost for SSO: Approximately $35,000+/year. Exact packaging isn't publicly broken out.

  • Live interviews: Yes

  • Personality tests: Yes

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

It combines on-demand and live video interviews, skills assessments, Virtual Job Tryouts, scheduling, structured interview guides, workflow automation, and enterprise-grade compliance. It is SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP certified.

Notable limitations: Customers say one-way video interviews can feel impersonal, particularly for candidates who perform better with real-time interaction. Others report occasional browser issues and a relatively heavy implementation and purchasing process. G2 includes multiple reviews from 2026.

—

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $5,000–$15,000/year. Glider uses custom pricing, and the actual cost depends on assessment volume and which screening/interview modules are included.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; approximately $5,000–$15,000+/year.

Notable features: Glider AI is unusually broad, spanning AI screening, skills validation, technical and nontechnical assessments, live interviewing, candidate identity verification, learning, and employee skills development. Its ScreenBot can conduct voice-based screening, while its proctoring includes continuous webcam monitoring and fraud detection.

Notable limitations: Customers generally like the screening and proctoring capabilities but say navigation and the interface could be improved. Because so much of the offering is modular and enterprise-oriented, pricing is also difficult to compare without engaging sales. G2 lists a January 2026 review specifically praising its real-world assessments and anti-cheating controls.

  • Personality tests: Yes

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: Yes

  • SOC 2 compliance: No

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: TestTrick's standout differentiator is price. Its entry plan includes the full assessment library, coding challenges, personality and cognitive testing, one-way video interviews, AI proctoring, screen recording, browser lockdown, branding, and integrations rather than feature-gating them into higher tiers.

Notable limitations: Customers want more specialized tests in areas such as databases, tax, and other niche subjects. One 2026 reviewer also called out difficulty resending the same assessment to a candidate and wanted stronger integration behavior. Its AI analysis is still relatively limited compared with more AI-heavy platforms.

—

HireQuotient

Website: hirequotient.com
Company size: 11–100
G2 reviews: 101–400

Trial: 14 days for its current Paylocity-connected offering. HireQuotient otherwise tends to use demos and sales-led pilots depending on the product being evaluated.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $3,000/year using its published EasyAssess volume pricing. Its historical Growth tier is $500 for 50 candidates, while the higher tier supports 100 candidates for $1,000, so 300 assessments works out to roughly $3,000 at public rates.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; likely $3,000+/year.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Custom pricing; likely $3,000+/year.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: Yes

Its agents can source candidates, verify credentials, screen profiles, conduct outreach across channels, administer assessments, and automate interview workflows. The current platform is particularly focused on healthcare, insurance, construction, manufacturing, and other frontline industries.

Notable limitations: Customers want more customization around tags, reports, workflow stages, and analytics. The product is also evolving quickly, so its current positioning is much broader than the assessment product that originally placed it in G2's Technical Skills Screening category. Multiple G2 reviews from April 2026 mention those customization requests.

—

Website: hipeople.io
Company size: 11–100

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $720–$2,000+/year, depending on how many credits each candidate consumes. Its assessment library spans hard skills, cognitive ability, personality, culture, and technical skills, while its reference-checking workflow is deeper than most products in this category.

Notable limitations: Customers say customization can be restrictive, particularly for specialized roles, and some want more detailed or configurable assessment information. The credit model has also become less straightforward as more AI actions and question types consume different amounts. G2 lists more than 1,000 reviews, including reviews from March 2026.

It combines candidate screening, conversational AI, technical and cognitive assessments, language tests, personality and behavioral evaluation, and automated recruiting agents designed to move candidates through the funnel with minimal recruiter intervention.

Notable limitations: Customers say reporting could be more flexible, niche assessments sometimes need more customization, and candidates occasionally encounter technical glitches or lockouts. Trial: No time limit stated. The free plan allows up to 5 candidates, requires no credit card, and includes the same assessments and anti-fraud functionality as paid plans.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $900–$1,100/year. A 50-candidate credit pack currently costs $190, so six packs would cost $1,140 before promotional discounts; subscription pricing can reduce the effective cost.

Minimum cost for SSO: Not publicly disclosed.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Not publicly disclosed.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: No

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: No

  • SOC 2 compliance: No

  • SSO: No

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: Yes

  • Personality tests: No

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: Yes

  • SOC 2 compliance: No

  • SSO: Yes

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: TestDome uses straightforward prepaid pricing rather than annual subscriptions or complicated credit systems. Its library covers technical and nontechnical skills, while every plan includes webcam and screen proctoring, AI-cheating detection, automated scoring, and collaborative live interviews.

Notable limitations: Customers say timed tests do not always reflect real-world job performance, pricing can become expensive for smaller teams, and some invitation emails end up in spam. Others say portions of the question library can be too US-centric.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $5,000–$15,000/year. Nova uses custom pricing based on resume volume, interview volume, and the hiring workflow.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; approximately $5,000–$15,000+/year.

  • Personality tests: No

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: Yes

  • SOC 2 compliance: Yes

  • SSO: Yes

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: Nova is positioned as an AI hiring teammate rather than just an assessment platform. It can screen resumes, conduct pre-screening calls and conversational first-round interviews, administer coding rounds, and apply advanced proctoring. That hiring functionality sits alongside Peoplebox’s broader performance and talent-management platform.

Notable limitations: Customers say initial configuration and calibration can require trial and error, while the broader Peoplebox interface has a learning curve and some areas could offer more customization. One 2026 reviewer specifically called out the calibration required when setting up AI interview questions.

Notable limitations: Customers say occasional technical issues can interrupt interviews, while candidate-management workflows and access controls could be smoother. Some functionality is also gated into higher custom-priced tiers, making total cost difficult to determine before speaking with sales.

—

Intervue

Website: intervue.io
Company size: 101+
G2 reviews: 11–100
Notable clients: Adobe, BP, S&P Global, Rakuten, Nykaa

Trial: Trial available. Intervue customizes trial access based on expected hiring volume and requirements rather than publishing a fixed duration or candidate allowance.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $5,000–$15,000+/year. Pricing depends heavily on whether a company uses automated assessments, AI screening, or Intervue’s outsourced expert interviewers.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; approximately $5,000–$15,000+/year.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Custom pricing; approximately $5,000–$15,000+/year.

  • Live interviews: Yes

  • Personality tests: No

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: Yes

  • SOC 2 compliance: Yes

  • SSO: Yes

Companies can send candidates to a network of technical interviewers who conduct and score live interviews in a proctored coding environment. The platform also includes automated technical assessments and AI screening for earlier stages of the funnel.

Notable limitations: Customers say scheduling should be more flexible and that interviewer consistency can vary. Because the core service can involve paying external experts to interview candidates, it also operates more like a managed service than a conventional self-serve assessment product.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; more than £28,600 for the first year if an Advanced plan is required.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: £28,600 for the first year. Standard ATS library integration is included with Core.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: No

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: Yes

  • Personality tests: Yes

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: No

  • SOC 2 compliance: No

  • SSO: Yes

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: Sova is built around assessment science and complex enterprise hiring rather than developer testing alone. It combines cognitive, personality, situational-judgment and work-sample assessments with one-way and two-way video interviews and virtual assessment centers. Its pricing also allows unlimited candidates, subject to fair-use provisions.

Notable limitations: Customers say reporting and analytics could be deeper, some administrative workflows are not as intuitive as they should be, and translations can require refinement. The required onboarding fee also makes the entry cost materially higher than the advertised monthly subscription alone.

  • Personality tests: No

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: Yes

  • SOC 2 compliance: No

  • SSO: No

Notable features: LuGo-Test is a technical-focused assessment platform with a relatively straightforward price point. It supports coding challenges, technical tests, live coding, custom assessments, and AI-powered proctoring that monitors screenshots, webcam activity, tab switching, and unauthorized AI tools.

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: Yes

  • SOC 2 compliance: No

  • SSO: No

Trial: No standardized self-serve employer trial is publicly advertised. Employers generally engage Unstop for hiring campaigns, assessments, competitions, or broader talent programs.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $1,000–$5,000/year. Employer pricing is custom and varies based on assessment type, candidate volume, proctoring, and whether sourcing or employer-branding services are included.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; exact price not disclosed.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Custom pricing; exact price not disclosed.

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: No

  • Personality tests: Yes

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: Yes

  • SOC 2 compliance: No

  • SSO: Yes

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: Unstop is as much a talent marketplace and campus-recruiting network as an assessment platform. Employers can source and engage early-career talent, run competitions and hackathons, and administer coding, aptitude, communication, personality, and other assessments with AI-powered proctoring.

Notable limitations: Customers say the platform can lag during larger competitions or assessments and that some workflows could be more intuitive. It is also difficult to compare directly with pure assessment software because sourcing, employer branding, competitions, and community access are central parts of the offering.

Website: astrnt.co
Company size: 11–100
G2 reviews: 11–100
Notable clients: Public customer references are limited

Trial: No time limit on the free plan. Organizations can assess up to 5 people per month using ASTRNT’s core functionality without approvals or a paid subscription.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Custom pricing. The free plan only covers 60 assessments annually; the Enterprise plan required for 300 candidates does not have public pricing.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; exact price not disclosed.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Custom pricing; exact price not disclosed.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: No

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: No

  • Personality tests: Yes

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: No

  • SOC 2 compliance: No

  • SSO: Yes

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: ASTRNT combines structured asynchronous video interviewing with behavioral, situational, and technical skills assessments. Its free plan is unusually usable for very small teams, while automated scoring evaluates communication, delivery, fit, and assessment performance without requiring recruiters to review every response manually.

Notable limitations: Customers say occasional technical errors can interrupt the experience and that AI-led evaluation can feel impersonal compared with a conventional interview. Enterprise pricing is also completely opaque once a company exceeds the five-candidate-per-month free allowance.

—

WeCP

Website: wecreateproblems.com
Company size: 11–100
G2 reviews: 11–100
Notable clients: Microsoft, Robert Bosch, Infosys, Texas Instruments, Mindtree

Trial: Free trial available. WeCP provides trial access to the assessment platform, but a standardized duration and candidate allowance are not clearly disclosed publicly.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $2,000–$6,000/year. WeCP uses volume-based pricing, so the actual cost depends on candidate volume, assessment configuration, and enterprise functionality.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; approximately $2,000–$6,000+/year.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Custom pricing; approximately $2,000–$6,000+/year.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: Yes

  • AI phone screening: Yes

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: Yes

  • Personality tests: Yes

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: Yes

  • SOC 2 compliance: Yes

  • SSO: Yes

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: WeCP combines technical and nontechnical assessments with coding challenges, communication evaluations, AI-powered screening, live interviewing, and automated proctoring. It is particularly oriented toward high-volume technical hiring and lets employers customize assessments around specific skills rather than relying entirely on predefined tests. G2 currently lists 84 reviews and categorizes 79 of them under Technical Skills Screening.

Notable limitations: Customers say occasional technical errors can disrupt assessments, while pricing and email notifications could be improved. The platform also has a smaller ecosystem and brand footprint than the largest technical assessment vendors.

—

Karat

Website: karat.com
Company size: 101+
G2 reviews: 11–100
Notable clients: Indeed, Roblox, Compass, Wayfair, Intuit

Trial: No public self-serve trial. Karat uses a sales-led evaluation and pilot process because its core offering includes human technical interviewers rather than simply providing assessment software.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $30,000–$100,000+/year. Karat is fundamentally an interview-as-a-service product, so pricing depends on interview volume, role complexity, interviewer services, and the broader hiring program.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; likely within an enterprise agreement.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Custom pricing; likely within an enterprise agreement.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: No

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: Yes

  • Personality tests: No

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: No

  • SOC 2 compliance: Yes

  • SSO: Yes

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: Karat is different from almost every assessment vendor because companies can outsource technical interviews rather than simply buy the software used to conduct them. Professional interviewers conduct structured technical interviews, score candidates against consistent rubrics, and return hiring signals to the employer. This makes it particularly useful for high-volume engineering hiring when internal engineers would otherwise spend significant time interviewing. G2 currently places Karat directly in its Technical Skills Screening category.

Notable limitations: Customers say some questions prioritize solving problems quickly rather than optimizing solutions, while candidates can find certain questions time-consuming to understand. Using third-party interviewers can also make the candidate experience feel less connected to the company actually doing the hiring.

Otomeyt AI

Website: otomeyt.ai
Company size: 101+
G2 reviews: 11–100
Notable clients: Deloitte, IDFC FIRST Bank

Trial: Demo or pilot available. Otomeyt does not publish a standardized self-serve trial duration or candidate allowance.

Minimum cost for 300 invites/year: Approximately $3,000–$10,000/year. Pricing is quote-based and depends on candidate volume, assessment types, proctoring, and other modules.

Minimum cost for SSO: Custom pricing; approximately $3,000–$10,000+/year.

Minimum cost for ATS integration: Custom pricing; approximately $3,000–$10,000+/year.

Capabilities:

  • Resume grading: Yes

  • AI phone screening: No

  • Take-home tests: Yes

  • Live interviews: Yes

  • Personality tests: Yes

  • VS Code with agentic coding: No

  • Webcam proctoring: Yes

  • SOC 2 compliance: Yes

  • SSO: Yes

  • ATS integrations: Yes

Notable features: Otomeyt AI has shifted toward AI-generated, role-specific assessments rather than relying exclusively on a static question library. Its MeritEdge assessment engine can generate technical questions from a job description, evaluate candidate submissions with AI, support coding and behavioral assessments, and produce structured reports and benchmarking data. G2 currently lists 45 reviews, with 44 categorized under Technical Skills Screening.

Notable limitations: Customers say customization could be stronger and that reporting still needs improvement for some assessment types. Others say rapidly evolving workflows can create ambiguity and would benefit from better documentation and more structured processes. These issues appear in reviews posted in February 2026.
