  • How to implement smooth 2D graphics
If anyone would be willing to help me with implementing smooth 2D graphics, it would be appreciated. The style I'm looking for is similar to the "bitmask" style at this link. Guide to implementing 2D platformers

  • I'm looking for a learning program or tutorial that is based around this style of game. It's been really difficult to find resources to learn how to develop a game that uses the particular type of art and level design. The article I found was helpful by demonstrating the coding practice used, but not much else. Thanks for your quick responses!

  • Ideally, I would like to be able to construct an engine that could process the "bitmask" as boundaries. Establish a level editor that can be drawn in images rather than tiles.

  • You could use a game engine or a software like game maker studio, cocos2D etc. If you're looking for more of a hardcore coding style platformer game, you could always go for Pygame.

  • What exactly do you need help with? The per-pixel collision detection? Drawing the level?
